Engage Customers through Make Music Day

Tenleytown Main Street kicks off the summer season on Wednesday, June 21 with the 2nd annual Make Music Day. Originally celebrated as La Fête de la Musique in Paris, Make Music Day has expanded to more than 700 cities worldwide.

The festival celebrates free, live music performances held outdoors at public parks and local businesses, providing opportunities for visitors of all ages to interact with and create music. More than 30 musical acts are scheduled to perform up and down Wisconsin Avenue throughout the day and into the evening.

Wisconsin Avenue will be filled with music, which means more customers to fill your stores and restaurants. If you’re still wondering how you can leverage Make Music Day to benefit your business, here are a few ways you can be a part of the event:

  • Freshen you window displays to capture the eyes and dollars of new customers.
  • Let your current customers know about Make Music Day – email, tweet, and post on Instagram and Facebook! Follow the TMS accounts for ideas and inspiration: @Tenleytown MS and https://facebook.com/TenleytownMainStreet/ #MakeMusicTenley
  • Highlight any music or summer-themed products or services you offer. Think broad and have fun being creative.
  • Offer special promotions specifically for Make Music Day – and don’t forget to let Tenleytown Main Street know so we can spread the word.
  • Hold a sidewalk sale or tasting to draw pedestrians and bring added life to the sidewalks.
  • Open your windows or doors to let in the music from nearby venues.
