A Message from Our Executive Director

December 1, 2022

Dear friends and neighbors,

Executive DirectorFor the past seven years, it has been my honor and privilege to serve as the founding Executive Director for Tenleytown Main Street. Together, with community members and business leaders like yourselves, we have built a leading Main Street organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant business district that welcomes and serves all who work, live, study, shop, dine, and visit here.

Later this month I will be departing Tenleytown Main Street to serve as Chief of Staff for Ward 3 Councilmember-elect Matthew Frumin, and while I am truly excited for this next step in my career, I also know that I will miss each of you. During my tenure I have gotten to know countless community members who have given so generously of their time, expertise, ideas, and enthusiasm in support of this neighborhood we share. I have also been fortunate to work closely with the business owners whose shops, restaurants, salons, and services are at the heart of our Main Street and who inspire me daily.

I am proud of what we have achieved together. From exciting new cultural events like Art All Night to contributing to the design of new parks and projects that have begun to reshape our streetscape. From a robust portfolio of pro-bono small business consulting to buttressing businesses in the face of an unprecedented pandemic, helping them collectively secure millions in financial assistance.

As I look back on the breadth of our work, I am grateful to our talented team of volunteers, committee members, staff, and board of directors. Rest assured that I am leaving the organization in the best hands possible.

I look forward to the next chapter for Tenleytown Main Street, one that I will gladly support as a Tenleytown resident and continued TMS donor. And I look forward to keeping in touch as I continue to work in public service to our community.

With gratitude,
Leigh Catherine Miles
