Tenleytown Main Street works with residents and businesses to strengthen the commercial district at the heart of our community. Businesses within or adjacent to Tenleytown Main Street can show their support for a thriving business district by making an annual investment in TMS’s work to support local businesses, attract customers, and foster a clean, green, and vibrant commercial area. According to the National Main Street Center, on average for every dollar contributed to a Main Street program, nearly $20 is reinvested in the local economy.

Tenleytown Business Membership: $500 annually or $50 a month

Tenleytown Main Street offers a range of free services to all of our small businesses in the Tenleytown corridor. This support provides tangible benefits to all of our businesses through advocacy, education, and financial support. These benefits offered at no cost include:

What Tenleytown Main Street offers to all Small Businesses in our corridor without cost:

  1. Provide competitive grant funding for small business improvements
  2. Advocate for small businesses to the DC government
  3. Provide licensing and permit support
  4. Publish bi-monthly Business Brief offering news about grants and continuing education
  5. Remove trash and graffiti through Clean Team and volunteer programs
  6. Organize community events like Art All Night that draw residents to Tenleytown
  7. Offer Tenley Bucks, a free digital gift card program, to keep local dollars local
  8. Provide small business education by local experts
  9. Access to free events advertising through website calendar

For $500 annually, small businesses can join the Business Membership Program. In addition to supporting all of the work that Tenleytown Main Street does at no cost for our businesses, participation in the Business Membership Program provides these additional benefits:

  1. One Article in Around the Town during the year (general interest article written by business and including 1 picture – 250 word count maximum)  – first 15 businesses to sign up
  2. One video interview with Noah Getz in your store posted on social media and on our YouTube channel. Available to send to you for posting as well
  3. Inclusion in quarterly thank you posts on social media with all members (FB/Instagram)
  4. Social media posts for the business’ special events and promotions
  5. Elevator pitch workshop
  6. Advertising concepts workshop with graphic designer
  7. Membership Peer review meeting of social media or website
  8. Inclusion in members recommendation directory
