JTR Jujutsu International is the only traditional Japanese Jujutsu dojo located in the Washington, DC area.  This "combat-style" martial art system originates from the 16th-century where it was used by Samurai warriors as an empty-handed and small weapon technique on the battlefield.  We are classified as a "Budo" style meaning "martial way or warpath.  Jujutsu is translated to mean gentle or flexible as a fighting art or techniques.
