Middle C Music guitar teacher Alicia Kopfstein-Penk presents Leonard Bernstein: A Centennial Celebration, an illustrated talk shedding light on the many questions about the maestro's life and career: What made him special as a conductor? How did he manage to discuss both the Beatles and Mozart logically in the same show? And much more.

This program is adapted from a talk that Alicia will give at the Cosmos Club on March 14.

Alicia's book, Leonard Bernstein and his Young People's Concerts has been called "utterly fascinating," and "one of the best books about Bernstein." She is editor and author for the forthcoming collection of essays entitled Leonard Bernstein and the Nation's Capital. Her other forthcoming book is Making Music with Heart and Mind.
