Description

The Tenleytown Historical Society hosts architectural historian Peter Sefton for a talk on "The Perna Family and its Contributions to Tenleytown" at Friendship Terrace.

The Perna brothers, Francesco and Luigi, emigrated to the United States from Italy in the late 19th century and just a few years later were living in Tenleytown. They were accomplished stone cutters and masons and quickly established a successful business including the construction of houses. Their craftsmanship is evident in Tenleytown buildings and walls and throughout the city.
