Description

Northwest Neighbors Village’s (NNV) 15th Anniversary Kick Off Celebration
Tuesday, September 17th at 6:30 pm

Raise a glass to NNV at our wine and cheese reception.

Relive history with a screening of Ain’t No Back to aMerry-Go-Round, the untold story of the first organized interracial civil rights protest in U.S. history that occurred right here in Glen Echo Amusement Park!

History comes alive with a panel discussion with the film’s director Ilana Trachtman, Edith Bryant who is featured in the film, and civil rights veteran Wade J. Henderson, Esq. The discussion will be moderated by Robert Siegel former host of NPR’s All Things Considered.

Need a ride downtown? Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Forest Hills of DC, round trip rideshares will be available from Forest Hills to the event. There are a limited number of rides, which are available on a first come, first served basis. Purchase your ticket today and indicate that you need a ride via email to info@nnvdc.org or by calling 202-935-6060.

Tickets are $100 per person. Sponsorships are available to those of you who want to see your name on the big screen. Best of all, you will have the satisfaction of knowing your ticket purchase will help NNV carry out our mission to empower older adults to thrive as they age by offering a wide range of programs, resources, and volunteer support.
