Description

Large-scale telework. Widespread calls for fairness and equity. Vaccine mandates. Debates over a shortened work week. Moves toward unionization in organizations far beyond the traditional manufacturing sector. Constant turnover and The Great Resignation. Work—how and where we perform it as well as the expectations we bring to it—has changed immensely over the past two years. COVID-19 has accelerated much of this change, but some shifts had already been quietly underway for years prior.

This panel, led by SIS professor and comparative labor employment relations expert Stephen Silvia, includes employees from Starbucks, American University, The Brookings Institution, and German service employees union ver.di. The panelists will discuss the current state of work and their own perspectives about the many changes underway. An audience Q&A will follow the discussion.

Registrants will receive email reminders containing the Zoom webinar link.
