Description

Local guide Farleigh Earhart  invites you to discover the traces of Tenleytown's rural past and learn about the events, institutions, and people that transformed it into a thriving DC neighborhood. Tour highlights include the site of a Civil War fort, a convent, the home of the Dunblane fox-hunting club, and a historic cemetery. Tour takes place outside only, no interior locations.

Presented by Cultural Tourism DC, WalkingTown DC is DC's best public tour program, featuring more than 50 guided walking tours in neighborhoods throughout the District.  This popular annual event takes place annually in September and introduces residents and visitors to the art, culture, and history of Washington, DC through a series of "bite-size" lunchtime tours, after-work "happy hour" tours, and longer weekend tours.
