Streatery Public Space Committee Hearing on November 14

The proposed draft guidelines that outline new design requirements and permit processes that all food establishments will need to follow once adopted have been released. DDOT will also be leading a series of targeted stakeholder information sessions to walk through the proposed guidelines in more detail. If you currently have an active temporary streatery permit (e.g., Parklet or Other Special Event), DDOT will extend your permit from December 31, 2024 to July 31, 2025. This extension is meant to allow you to time to apply for a new public space permit from DDOT under the permanent program and bring your streateries into compliance with the new guidance, while still able to operate under your current plan.

The Corporate Transparency Act

The CTA mandates that small businesses and certain entities report beneficial ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Small businesses should be aware that the CTA applies to most entities with fewer than 20 employees or less than $5 million in revenue, except for certain exempted companies. Reporting deadlines: companies formed before January 1, 2024, must file their initial reports by January 1, 2025, while entities formed on or after January 1, 2024, have 30 days from the date of formation to report.
