Pre-schools

With more than 40 years of service, Broadcasters Child Development Center (BCDC) is one of the most experienced childcare centers in the DC Metro area. BCDC is a Creative Curriculum® learning program, which is the country’s leading scientifically based, comprehensive curriculum for programs serving children from birth to age 5.

CommuniKids Language Immersion Pre-school is a language immersion school offering high-quality educational programs for children: preschool, kindergarten, summer camps, weekly classes, and afterschool care.

St. Albans Early Childhood Center provides high quality educational services using a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum for a multi-economic and culturally diverse group of young children.

St. Columba’s Nursery School offers developmentally-based morning and afternoon programs for 3 and 4 year olds.

Two Birds offers a Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum for preschool and child care, educating children from birth through age 5.

Public Schools

Janney Elementary School seeks to be a community of learners built on a foundation of inquiry, equity, reflection, collaboration, and experimentation. In addition to our core curriculum, students also take art, music, technology, physical education, and Spanish classes. Grades PK-5.

Alice Deal Middle School uses the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP), which encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. The school combines DCPS subject standards with the IB MYP in a rich, engaging environment. Grades 6-8.

Jackson-Reed High School strives to build a safe, supportive, and welcoming community of dedicated and self-reflective learners equipped to joyfully embrace our opportunities for growth on the path to active citizenship. Grades 9-12.

Private Schools

Located near Tenleytown, the Edmund Burke School offers challenging college prep academics with a progressive pedagogy that values student individuality and places students at the center of their education. Grades 6-12.
