Business Feature: Le Chat Noir
All about Le Chat Noir
Le Chat Noir debuted in Tenleytown in 2005, and since then the classic French restaurant has become a staple in Tenleytown’s dining scene.
Sam Ziar, co-owner of Le Chat Noir, said he and his wife Marie brought their experience in the hospitality and food industry to Le Chat Noir in hopes of creating a “charming ambience that could become a modern homage to the joyful spirit of the Belle Époque.”
Their mission as a restaurant is relatively simple: to serve simple, healthy, and comforting food.
“Our service is very warm and professional. Our wine is always good and affordable,” Ziar said. “Everyone is welcome to come in for a salade d’endives, escargot, steak frite or buckwheat crepe, or simply enjoy a glass of Côtes du Rhône with charcuterie.”
Le Chat Noir not only has an expansive menu with traditional French dishes, innovative appetizers, and desserts, it also features a second floor wine bar: Le Chat Perché (open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). Silent movies are projected on the second floor for a romantic and quiet atmosphere. Kudos to Le Chat Noir for more than 20 years as a neighborhood gem in Tenleytown!
As we look ahead, we welcome your contributions to help us continue supporting Tenleytown and its small businesses. Please consider donating to Tenleytown Main Street to help maintain this thriving community!
