TenleyFest Special Edition 🎼

Our community will celebrate TenleyFest THIS SATURDAY, May 30th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (rain or shine)! We are transforming the Wisconsin Ave. corridor with free live music, kids zones, and special events on every single block. This special edition of Around the Town includes an event map, highlighted activities, and artist spotlights. We want to thank all of our sponsors and small businesses for particiapting and making it a wonderful day for our community. Come join us on Saturday!

- Wow Wheelz Kids Zone (TD Bank Lot): Go-kart experiences and fun activities perfectly designed for ages 3–8! 🏎️💨
- My Gym: A dedicated kids’ play area for the little ones to burn off some energy! 🎈
- District Irish Dance Academy: Catch an exciting live dance demonstration from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the corner of Wisconsin Ave and 42nd St NW. ☘️
- Friendship Place Open House: Drop by 4713 Wisconsin Ave NW during the festival to learn how they serve and support our community. 🏠

Amy Bormet Duo — Performing at Caring Hands Animal Hospital

Prepare to be blown away by pianist, vocalist, and the visionary founder of the Washington Women in Jazz Festival, Amy K. Bormet. As the co-founder of Strange Woman Records, she has become a true cornerstone of the DC music scene. Known for her fearless, free-wheeling style and brilliant improvisation, Amy performs a variety of musical styles including jazz and rock covers. Come check out Amy’s performance in front of Caring Hands Animal Hospital!

Student Band Showcase — Performing at Guapos 🎸

- Kid Named Rhi: A DC-based indie-pop singer-songwriter blending alternative and jazz influences (think Remi Wolf and Kate Bollinger). She’s a staple at American University campus events and local venues like Union Stage and DC9.
- Double Dash: Hailing from DC, Double Dash is an energetic Jackson-Reed High School teen pop-punk act delivering high-octane covers and originals inspired by bands like All Time Low and Pierce the Veil.
