Great Streets Grants Offer $50,000 for Business Capital Improvements

Tenleytown small businesses are eligible to apply for up to $50,000 in funding from the District government for interior and exterior renovations and/or operational improvements. Wisconsin Avenue is among the commercial corridors supported by the Great Streets Retail Small Business Grants, funded through the office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED).

Great Streets grant funding can be used for:

  • build out of a new or vacant space
  • interior and exterior renovations
  • façade improvements
  • heavy equipment upgrades
  • soft costs, including marketing, point-of-sale inventory management systems, and movable equipment and furniture.

Preference will be given to businesses proposing improvements to storefronts and front-of-house areas, as well as those renovating vacant or blighted buildings.

During the last round of grants, 100 small businesses received funding, including Haute Bodhi yoga studio here in Tenleytown. Don’t miss your chance to be a Great Streets grant recipient. Join one of the following live chats offered by DMPED to learn more about the grant program:
