TMS Board of Directors names Kyle Todd as Interim Executive Director

December 6, 2022

Earlier this month, Tenleytown Main Street founding Executive Director Leigh Catherine Miles announced she will be leaving TMS to serve as Chief of Staff for Ward 3 Councilmember-elect Matthew Frumin. For seven years, Leigh Catherine has brilliantly overseen TMS’s growth, developing a robust portfolio of business assistance programs, park and public space design projects, and commercial district marketing and special events, including Art All Night and Tenley WinterFest, that draw thousands of District residents to Tenleytown annually. The Board of Directors is indebted to Leigh Catherine for her vision, energy, and commitment to TMS and its mission.

“Leigh Catherine has met every challenge at TMS head on and with poise and gusto. We are forever indebted to Leigh Catherine’s commitment and dedication to building TMS from the ground up and know that the entire District will benefit from her experience and dedication in the future,” said Maria Barry, Chair of TMS’s Board of Directors.

Beginning in January 2023, Kyle Todd will serve as Interim Executive Director for Tenleytown Main Street. Kyle previously served as the Executive Director of the Friends of Rhode Island Avenue for 10 years and comes to TMS with more than 15 years of experience in managing non-profit organizations. The TMS Board of Directors and staff look forward to working with Kyle during the organization’s leadership transition, while TMS conducts its search for a new Executive Director.

TMS aims to hire its new Executive Director, who will work with the Board of Directors to craft a forward-thinking strategic plan for the organization’s future, by February 2023. TMS seeks a highly creative and collaborative leader who will be an enthusiastic advocate for Tenleytown, focused on the neighborhood’s business district revitalization. The ideal candidate will be an experienced community development professional who combines strategic and entrepreneurial skills with a sense of humor and creativity. A successful candidate will be able to oversee strategic planning, program and organizational management, fundraising, events, and communications and outreach with businesses and the community. Additional information on the candidate search and application details are available at www.tenleytownmainstreet.org.
